The Annapurna circuit is considered by many to be the best trek in Nepal, surpassing the Everest trek in terms of scenic and cultural variety, and it is the country’s most popular trek, although it is quite challenging.

Jomsom and Muktinath trek contains incredible altitude, climate and cultural contrasts. The gorge in-between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains leads the trekkers from the well vegetated and lush southern slopes of the Himalaya, to the dry zone where only the hardiest crops survive. You also move from predominantly Hindu area to one stepped in the culture of Tibetan Buddhism.

Prince Charles trekked to this route together with his 90 guests, camp followers and staffs and since then this trek is called as Royal Trek.

It is a good option if you don’t have the time or energy for a longer trek. It takes in the Pokhara valley’s other two lakes, Begnas and Rupa. There is no really demanding terrain to be covered and the walk has some excellent views of the mountains. This trek also gives you an opportunity to be able to see the life of people by staying and eating with them during the trek.
